A further explains that Kirie is the daughter of his dear friend, Grace, who died while helping the Navi people fight against humans. As for Spider, he was left behind when all humans returned to Earth after losing their war. Jake says that the kids play together and take good care of each other.
RDA spaceship attack
Spider does not acknowledge his human heritage and feels more inclined toward Na’vi culture and traditions. They lead a normal life until one day they see a strange star in the night sky. Much to their dismay, they realize it is an RDA spaceship, with humans returning to Pandora to colonize it. Again making it a new main operational base. Among the newcomers to the ship is Colonel Quaritch, who has been cloned into a Na’vi body. And also had his memories uploaded prior to his death. As a result, Quaritch is unable to remember his demise at the hands of Jake. But is only able to remember past events and his vengeful mission to eliminate Jake.
To prevent the RDA from exploiting Pandora again, Jake leads a strategic guerrilla operation against those undermining the RDA supply lines. In an operation, Loak who disobeys Netayam and is eager to prove himself tries to aid Jake in combat but is injured. Jake rescues her and disciplines her not to risk her safety by being reckless. That night, while tending to his wounds, Netri calmly reminds Jake not to be too hard on Loak, to which Jake expresses his concern as a father for his children’s safety. Meanwhile, the act of retaliation on the RDA supply lines does not sit well with Kvarch who launches a search mission to kill Jake. During a playful venture, Jake’s kids along with Spider explore deep into the rainforest.
Colonel searching Pandora
Quarch and his team are at the same location, Quarch finds his human remains. An observant folk notices their presence and quickly informs their father, Jake, who is alerted to the situation. However, a skirmish ensues and Quaritch’s squad captures Jake’s children. Jake and Neytiri arrive in time and free most of them, but Spider is taken in by Quaritch, who recognizes him as his son. Aboard the ship, the RDA tries to coerce information about Jake from Spider who refuses to provide it. Changing tactics, Quaritch addresses Spider as his son and also explains more about the Na’Vi in exchange for freedom from his side. Though uncooperative and unaware of Quarch’s true mission, Spider teaches Quarch about Na’vi culture. Quaritch is able to successfully tame an Ikran flying creature as his vehicle.
Knowing the danger Spider’s knowledge of their whereabouts poses to their safety and to avoid another catastrophe. Jake reluctantly forces Netri and her family to exile themselves.
Eastern seaboard of Metkayna
They moved from the Omaticia clan and retreat to the eastern seaboard of Metkayna. A coral reef island whose tribe and lifestyle are adapted to Pandora’s aquatic habitat. Jake hands over his chiefship to his successor and moves to Meccana with his family. Once they arrive, they are greeted by the clan chief Tonovari and his wife Ronal, who are initially suspicious of them. However, Jake explains their situation and they agree to stay and provide shelter. Even though some of the tribesmen scoff at Jake and his children for their genetic human heritage. The family learns the ways the people of the rock earn their respect.
Kiri is fascinated by the aquatic life of Metkayina and develops a spiritual bond with the sea and its creatures, while Loak befriends Tsireya, the daughter of clan chief Tonovari and his wife Ronal.
The aquatic life of Metkayana
While adjusting to his new environment, Loak gets into a fight with Cyreya’s brother Aunung when he makes a crude joke about the Kiri and their mixed human ancestry. Jake scolds his son for his behavior. At Jake’s urging, Loak returns to apologize to Aunung and his friends. However, they trick him into traveling into the territory of a dangerous sea predator and leave him stranded in revenge. The sea hunter tries to attack Lok. However, Lo’ak is rescued and befriends the Paikan, a Tulkun, an intelligent and pacifist cetacean species whom the Metacana consider their spiritual family. Upon returning to Metkayina, Chief Tonowari, who had become aware of Aunung’s actions toward Loak, asks the former to apologize to Loak. However, Loak takes the blame upon himself, winning Aunung’s friendship. He is also told that the Payakan is an outcast of their species.
Tulkuns and Payakan
Meanwhile, on a trip to a branch of the Tree of Souls, Kirie joins it to visit her mother but suffers a violent seizure. He is healed by Ronal. But when Jake calls Norm Spellman and Max for help, Quaritch is able to track them to the archipelago. Bringing Spider with him, he commandeers a whaling ship that is hunting the Tulkuns in order to harvest their brain enzymes to create an anti-aging treatment. Quaritch begins brutally questioning the indigenous tribes about Jake’s location.
Failing that, he orders the whaling crew to arbitrarily kill Tulkun in order to draw Jake out. Lo’ak mentally connects with Pyakan and learns that Tulkun was cast out because he went against the ways of his species and attacked the whalers who killed his mother. When Metkayina comes to know about the Tulkun slaughter, Loq leaves to warn Payakan, followed by her siblings, Tsireya and Aunung.
